KennelBooker Review 2026: I Ran 5 Hands-On Grooming Tests

Quick Verdict

In this KennelBooker review, I found a platform that goes well beyond a basic grooming scheduler. In my hands-on test, I could configure grooming slots, edit a preloaded sample booking, update a pet’s vaccination record, create a digital grooming waiver, turn on reminder emails, and open a branded client portal. The strongest part of the platform is how much pet-specific information connects back to the booking workflow.

The biggest caveat was the trial experience. I created a new account on September 30, 2026, but the dashboard immediately showed 0 trial days remaining. Clicking Add Booking redirected me to paid plans even though KennelBooker’s public website currently advertises a 14-day free trial with no credit card. I could still access many settings and edit a preloaded sample booking, but I could not complete a clean new-booking test from scratch. I could not determine whether this was an account-specific issue or a broader trial problem.

How I Tested KennelBooker

I created a fresh KennelBooker account for a fictional grooming business called Paws & Claws Grooming and tested the software in its live web interface. The account included a sample customer and pet, which I used where the trial state prevented me from creating a new booking.

I ran five practical tests: business setup and grooming slots; service and pricing behavior; the grooming booking workflow; pet records, vaccinations, and digital waivers; and reminders plus the client booking experience. I kept screenshots of the actual interface and treated blocked or incomplete workflows as limitations rather than filling the gaps with assumptions.

TestResult
1. Business setup + slotsPass with a caveat — Slot-based grooming worked, but setup is spread across several sections with separate save actions.
2. Service + pricingLimited — I found global and pet-specific grooming price controls, but a fresh new booking was blocked by the trial state, so I could not fully verify price propagation.
3. Booking workflowPass with a caveat — I successfully updated the sample booking to a specific date, 10:00 AM grooming slot, Full Groom, and one-hour duration.
4. Pet records + vaccination + waiverPass — A Rabies expiry date immediately appeared in the booking, and a Grooming digital waiver saved successfully.
5. Reminders + client portalLimited — Reminder settings saved and the client signup form opened. Account creation, a client booking, live reminder delivery, and recurring appointments were not tested.

Test 1: Business Setup and Grooming Slots

KennelBooker starts with a broad settings area rather than a short grooming-only wizard. I found controls for business details, services, booking behavior, calendars, taxes, invoices, payments, staff, waivers, vaccinations, and more. That depth is useful, but the setup felt fragmented because different sections save independently.

For the actual grooming workflow, I enabled online grooming slots, kept the default slot duration at one hour, and created Standard Grooming availability at 10:00 AM on Wednesday and Thursday for four weeks. The slots appeared correctly in the weekly view.

Test 1 — Standard Grooming slots created at 10:00 AM.

What this showed: KennelBooker gives groomers direct control over bookable slots, but getting there requires moving through more settings than a lightweight scheduler.

Test 2: Service and Pricing

KennelBooker includes built-in grooming types such as Full Groom, Half Groom, Bath Only, and Deshed Only. Editing a grooming type only changed its name; it did not expose price or duration controls in that modal. Elsewhere, I found both a Default Booking Price and pet-specific saved prices for each grooming type.

This is where the trial limitation mattered. My new account displayed 0 trial days remaining, and clicking Add Booking redirected to the subscription screen instead of letting me create a fresh booking. Because the existing sample booking had been created before I changed pricing, it remained at $0.00. I therefore could not verify end-to-end whether a newly entered grooming price would populate a brand-new booking.

Test 2 — Add Booking redirected the new trial account to paid plans.

Result: the pricing controls exist, but price propagation was not fully verified in this test. I would not treat the $0.00 sample booking as proof of a pricing bug because it predated my pricing changes.

Test 3: Grooming Booking Workflow

Since I could not create a new booking, I used KennelBooker’s preloaded sample grooming booking to test the editable workflow. I set the booking date to October 1, 2026, selected the 10:00 AM Standard Grooming slot, kept Full Groom as the service type, and used a one-hour duration.

After saving, KennelBooker returned an Update Successful confirmation. The slot changed to 10:00 AM – Standard Grooming (Booked), and the checkout time became 11:00 AM. This verified that date, slot, service type, and duration stayed connected when the booking was updated.

Test 3 — Existing grooming booking updated successfully.

The caveat is methodological: this was an edit of an existing booking, not a brand-new booking created from zero.

Test 4: Pet Records, Vaccinations, and Digital Waivers

This was KennelBooker’s strongest test. The pet profile goes well beyond name and breed. It includes weight, allergies, microchip and insurance fields, temperament, feeding instructions, medical history, medication, grooming notes, evaluation data, and vaccination dates.

I added a Rabies validity date of September 30, 2027. Before the update, the booking warned that no vaccinations were on file. After saving the vaccination, that warning was replaced by a Rabies entry with the expiry date and a green status check inside the booking itself.

Test 4 — Rabies vaccination status reflected inside the booking.

I also created a Grooming digital waiver. KennelBooker saved it successfully and listed it under Your Waivers with the update date and signature-count field. This verified waiver configuration, not a customer signing the waiver or its application during a new booking. The system can apply waivers by service and control how long a signature remains valid.

For grooming businesses that care about health and consent records, this integration is materially more useful than keeping those details in a separate spreadsheet or generic calendar.

Test 5: Reminders and Client Booking Experience

KennelBooker lets businesses automate email acknowledgements, confirmations, checkout receipts, and pre-check-in reminders. I enabled reminder emails for Grooming and set them to send one day before check-in. The settings saved successfully.

Test 5 — Grooming reminder emails enabled one day before check-in.

The client side is a branded portal rather than a simple appointment widget. A new customer signup can collect personal information, emergency contacts, veterinary details, communication preferences, pet details, health information, and login credentials.

Test 5 — Branded client signup starts with customer and emergency-contact details.

That depth is a strength for record-keeping, but it also creates more friction than a fast name-email-time booking form. I did not complete a new client account, submit a client booking, or send a live reminder. Saving settings and opening a form verified only configuration and access, not successful delivery or the complete client workflow. I also did not test recurring grooming appointments hands-on. KennelBooker’s current grooming page advertises recurring appointments, so I would treat that feature as publicly documented rather than personally verified in this review.

Ease of Use

KennelBooker is not difficult in the sense of being confusing, but it is dense. There are many settings because the product is designed to run a broader pet-care operation, not just put appointments on a calendar. The interface is functional and most labels are clear, yet the number of separate configuration panels made the setup feel substantial. I did not time the process, so I cannot verify or refute a specific setup-time claim.

Once the structure made sense, the workflow became predictable: configure services and slots, maintain customer and pet records, then manage bookings from the same system. I would expect an owner who uses vaccinations, waivers, reminders, and detailed pet notes to get more value from that depth than a solo groomer who only wants a simple calendar.

KennelBooker Pricing in 2026

Pricing last checked: October 3, 2026. The in-account prices discussed below were recorded during the September 30 test.

KennelBooker’s public pricing page currently lists four monthly plans. Every plan includes grooming plus the online booking portal and other pet-business modules. The public page also states that each plan starts with a 14-day free trial and no credit card is required.

PlanMonthly billing (USD)Annual charge (USD)
Dachshund$49.99$538.89
Beagle$65.99$714.89
Husky$94.99$1,033.89
Great Dane$122.99$1,341.89

The annual column is the total billed per year, not a monthly equivalent. The public page notes that VAT is excluded in the UK/Europe; confirm any applicable taxes at checkout. One pricing inconsistency appeared during my September 30 test: the in-account subscription screen showed monthly prices that were $1 lower on each tier ($48.99, $64.99, $93.99, and $121.99). Because the public site and the account screen did not match, I would verify the checkout price before subscribing.

What I Liked

  • Grooming slots are straightforward once configured.
  • Pet profiles are unusually detailed for a scheduling platform.
  • Vaccination status flows into the booking instead of living in a disconnected record.
  • Digital waivers can be tied to services and tracked by signature count.
  • Email reminders and templates are configurable by service.
  • The client portal supports much more than booking, including pet and veterinary information.

What Could Be Better

  • My new trial account immediately showed 0 days remaining even though the public site advertises a 14-day trial.
  • Add Booking redirected to paid plans, which prevented a clean new-booking test.
  • Setup is spread across many panels and often requires section-by-section saves.
  • The client signup flow is comprehensive but may feel long for customers who only want a grooming appointment.
  • Public and in-account monthly pricing did not match during my test.

Who KennelBooker Is Best For

KennelBooker makes the most sense for grooming businesses that want operational records and bookings in one system. If you need to track vaccinations, grooming history, waivers, reminders, client details, and possibly other pet-care services, the platform’s breadth is a real advantage.

If your only requirement is a minimal appointment calendar with a very short client signup, KennelBooker may feel heavier than necessary. The value comes from using the pet-business features, not just the calendar.

Who Should Skip KennelBooker?

Solo groomers who need only a lightweight calendar and a short booking form may find the setup and client record requirements heavier than necessary. Businesses that need to verify a new booking and reminder delivery before paying should first confirm that the advertised trial is active and permits those checks.

KennelBooker Review FAQ

Is KennelBooker good for pet grooming businesses?

It can be. I verified grooming-slot setup, a sample-booking edit, vaccination data appearing in the booking, and waiver configuration. Reminder settings saved and the client signup form opened, but I did not verify reminder delivery or a new customer booking. Its strongest fit is a grooming business that wants those records connected in one system.

How much does KennelBooker cost?

The public pricing page listed plans starting at $49.99 per month when I checked on September 30, 2026. Higher tiers mainly increase capacity while retaining the broader service set. Verify the current checkout price because my in-account subscription screen showed slightly different monthly amounts.

Does KennelBooker have a free trial?

KennelBooker’s public website says every plan includes a 14-day free trial with no credit card. In my test, however, a newly created account immediately displayed 0 trial days remaining and redirected Add Booking to paid plans. I could not determine whether that was an account-specific issue or a broader trial limitation.

Can customers book grooming appointments online?

KennelBooker’s official grooming page describes online booking through configured slots. In my test, I opened the branded signup form and inspected its customer, pet, veterinary, and communication fields; I did not complete account creation or an online booking.

Does KennelBooker track vaccinations and waivers?

Yes. I added a Rabies expiry date and saw the updated vaccination status inside the grooming booking. I also created and saved a Grooming digital waiver in the live settings interface.

Can KennelBooker handle recurring grooming appointments?

KennelBooker’s current grooming page says recurring grooming appointments can be scheduled by day, week, or month. I did not test that workflow hands-on in this review, so I am treating recurring grooming as an officially documented feature rather than a verified test result.

Final Verdict: Is KennelBooker Worth It?

KennelBooker impressed me most when the workflow moved beyond scheduling. The platform keeps grooming bookings close to pet health records, vaccination status, waivers, reminders, and client information. In Test 4 especially, the connection between a pet record and the live booking felt practical rather than decorative.

The trial experience is the reason I would not give the software an unqualified recommendation based on this test. A fresh account showing 0 days remaining and blocking Add Booking is a meaningful onboarding problem, even though much of the system remained accessible. The pricing mismatch between the public site and the in-account subscription page also deserves clarification before paying.

For a grooming business that needs detailed pet records and client workflows, KennelBooker is worth shortlisting. Before committing, I would confirm that the advertised trial is active on your account and run at least one brand-new booking from client signup through pricing, confirmation, and reminder delivery.
